ICDA Prestige Rating
All awards in the ICDA Directory have been given a newly developed "prestige" rating.  This rating--deriving from more than 25 years of research in the world of awards seeks to elaborate further between and among the world's most distinguished awards those that have a further level of distinction--whether by age, influence, uniqueness, standing, good practices, and related evaluative standards.  The factors from the "most notable" to those that are duly "recognized" as distinguished are as follows:

♦♦♦♦♦         5.0    Most Notable Awards
Those that exhibit the highest level of respect and good practices in the world.
♦♦♦♦           4.0    Gold Standard Awards
Those that adhere to the highest level of good practices in an exemplary manner and warrant immulation.
♦♦♦ (M)       3.6    Mega Prizes
Awards established since the year 2000 whose goals are laudable, practices exemplary, but distinguished by cash prizes of $1 million (USD) or more.
♦♦♦ (CH)     3.4    Challenge Prizes
Awards that are established to foster a carefully defined and measurable achievement, distinguished by cash prizes of $1 million (USD) or more.
♦♦♦ (P)       3.2    Prototype Awards
Awards distinguished by widespread recognition as being the original prototype award in a specific field of endeavor or research.
♦♦♦             3.0    Highly Esteemed
Awards that clearly are among the leading awards either in a specific field of endeavor or research or that exhibit practices that are exemplary.
♦♦               2.0    Esteemed
Awards that have been recognized--often for long periods of time--as important awards in a specific field of endeavor or research.
♦                 1.0    Recognized
Awards that have previously been recognized and continue to meet the criteria for  "distinguished" awards.
NEW            0.5    New
Recently emerging awards with some evidences of meeting "distinguished" award criteria if they are sustained.
Suspended    0.0    Awards that have been reported to be or are apparently suspended.
